Alcoholism is a disorder affecting thousands of Americans nowadays. This disease which is characterized by an uncontrollable impulse toward alcoholic beverages is tagged as one of the major causes of death in the United States. Counseling encourages long-term abstinence. It also teaches addicts on how to effectively cope up with the threats of alcoholism.
